THE FOUR ELEMENTS
This series of watercolors evolved after Sr. Mary Jacque finished the water
painting. She didn't want it to be an isolated painting, and since she
usually did work in series, she decided to paint the other elements
to go with it. Sr. Mary Jacque's desire was to make this series the "Six Elements"
adding metal and wood, to be in harmony with the Eastern
Philosophy. These elements which are so important in our
universe are not only a great source of artistic inspiration,
but they have also inspired great writers, philosophers and
scientists who are constantly seeking more understanding
about our world, the environment and human behavior.
