MURAL FOR OUR DAILY BREAD 4' x 20', 1999
This mural contains images and symbols that were submitted by the
many Parishes and organizations who contribute on a regular basis
to Our Daily Bread. They include: the words, wheat, wheat fields,
the city, churches of many faiths, candles, uplifted hands that are
holding things, the sunburst, hearts, the dove with an olive branch,
bread and the basket of bread.
There were more images, but these were the most significant and
they best lent themselves to the design of the mural. Using many
colors, to counteract the grayness of the surrounding city, was an
important part of my design. I also thought that it would be an
interesting perspective to see the city through a country landscape
of wheat fields.
